Handing over Award Certificates and Gifts to Three Retired Civil Servants, Chancellor of IAIN Ternate: The Loyalty, Devotion and Dedication of the Three Are Worthy of Respect

TERNATE – Three Civil Servants (PNS) at IAIN Ternate, North Maluku, officially retiring in 2024 received awards from the Chancellor of IAIN Ternate Prof Dr Radjiman Ismail, M.Pd.

The award presentation to the three retired civil servants was packaged in an official event with the agenda of releasing civil servants, which took place at the IAIN Ternate rectorate building, Friday (3/1/2025).

The three retired civil servants are the Head of the Sub Division of the Islamic Economics and Business Faculty, Fatmawati Madjodjo, S.PdI with a service period of 28 years 4 months, and Dra Nuraini Kamaluddin, M.Ag, a teaching staff at the Tarbiyah faculty with a service period of 33 years 6 months, and Ms. Djoronga, staff in the Administration, Supplies and Household Sub-Division who has worked for 30 years and 10 months.

The award presentation procession to retired civil servants was attended by the Chancellor of IAIN Ternate and all elements of leadership, staff and teaching staff at IAIN Ternate.

The Chancellor of IAIN Ternate, Prof. Radjiman Ismail, in his speech at the release of the three retired civil servants, said that these three civil servants were actually still really needed at IAIN Ternate, it's just that the service of each civil servant was hampered by the regulations.

He explained that government regulation number 11 of 2017 concerning civil servant management states that the age is 58 years for administrative officials, young expert functional officials, first expert functional officials, and skills functional officials; and 60 years for high-ranking officials and middle functional officials; and 65 years for civil servants who hold key expert functional positions.
"We certainly still miss the three of them remaining in our midst, in order to progress IAIN Ternate, but service has limits, our age is also limited, and our career journey is also limited according to applicable regulations," explained Radjiman.

"On behalf of the leadership and the entire academic community, I would like to express my gratitude for their dedication, loyalty and responsibility as well as their togetherness in navigating the IAIN Ternate campus journey," he added.

He revealed that the three civil servants who officially retired had their own stories which became a historical blanket for IAIN Ternate, namely starting from the era of IAIN Alauddin Ujung Pandang Ternate Branch, then STAIN Ternate until it officially transformed into IAIN Ternate.
"Ms. Nona entered IAIN in 1989, at that time I was still a student and in the process of completing my studies, but in the end we also officially became civil servants at the same time, in 1994 to be precise," he said.

"Thank God, in his career history there were no problems, and he was assigned to the general department until his retirement. "Today, if we were tested by the leadership regarding letter codes, such as what code PP.09 is, and the like, maybe some of us don't understand it, but Mrs. Miss memorized it all, because she does the job of receiving and dispositioning and distributing letters every day," he continued.

Meanwhile, he also appreciated the dedication of the former Head of Sub-Division of the Islamic Economics and Business Faculty, Fatmawati Madjodjo. He explained that Fatmawati Madjodjo was known as a computer operator at IAIN Ternate in the era of IAIN Alauddin Ujung Pandang Ternate Branch.
"Mrs. Wati is a computer operator and introduces computers to every teaching staff and education staff at IAIN Alauddin Ternate Branch," he said.

"What is meant by professional is like both of them, because they master their field of work, what they are assigned to do seriously," he said

Apart from that, he continued, Dra Nuraini Kamaluddin is one of the senior teaching staff at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FTIK) IAIN Ternate, who at all times devotes her attention to educating and guiding students.

"Even though he has officially retired from service, he still guides students at Ma'had, of course his sincere devotion to educating students," he said.
He added that the three of them are examples of the ideal profile of civil servants for the Ministry of Religion, because whatever they are assigned will definitely accept and work well, without any complaints, and uphold their responsibilities.
"Their retirement period coincides with the momentum of the Ministry of Religion's 79th anniversary celebration, therefore, the loyalty, dedication and dedication of the three of them is worthy of emulation for us to work optimally, in devoting our attention to bringing the IAIN Ternate campus much further forward," he said.
