SMEI Region XI Regional Working Meeting Ready to be Held, IAIN Ternate as Host
TERNATE – The Indonesian Economics Student Senate Association (ISMEI) region XI covering Maluku, North Maluku, Papua and West Papua will hold the inauguration of the management for the 2025-2027 period and a regional working meeting (Rakerwil) in May.
This was conveyed by the chairman of the inauguration committee and Rakerwil ISMEI region XI for the 2025-2027 period, Rival Hi Yahya, on Friday (25/4/2025) at the IAIN Ternate campus. He said that the implementation of the activity will last for 3 days, namely 22-24 May 2025, which will be centered in the IAIN Ternate auditorium.
He said that IAIN Ternate was chosen as the host because in the previous period a number of universities in the provinces of Maluku, North Maluku, Papua, and West Papua were designated as the venue for the Rakerwil ISMEI region XI.
"In 2019, the ISMEI Regional Work Meeting XI was held at Khairun University Ternate. So, in 2025, the ISMEI management decided IAIN Ternate as the host," he explained.
Rival, who is also a 4th semester student in the Islamic Economics (EKS) study program at the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI) IAIN Ternate, explained that the implementation of the inauguration and Regional Work Meeting of ISMEI Region XI in 2025, entitled Green and Blue Economic Challenges to the Eastern Indonesian Economy, will be attended by 50 delegates.
The delegates, he said, came from student organizations such as the Student Executive Board (BEM), Student Executive Council (DEMA), Student Executive Institution (LEM) and Student Senate of the Faculty of Economics at universities in Maluku, North Maluku, Papua and West Papua.
"So, the delegates who have been confirmed to attend the inauguration and Regional Work Meeting are 50 people," he said.
He said that so far, various preparations related to the implementation of activities have begun to be solidified, especially in coordination with the Ternate city government and North Maluku Province to support the implementation of the ISMEI Regional Work Meeting XI for the 2025-2027 period.
In addition to the inauguration and Rakerwil, he continued, it was also combined with a national economic seminar presenting the Former Director General of the Indonesian Ministry of Transmigration, Velix Wanggai, Secretary of the Indonesian Downstream and National Resilience Task Force, Prof. Ahmad Erani Yustika, Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives Commission IV, Ahmad Johan, M.Si and Chairman of IKA ISMEI for the 2025-2027 period, Ahmad Bahtiar.
"We held the national seminar on Thursday, May 22 and on Friday, May 23, 2025 there was also a North Maluku economic seminar, presenting the Regional Secretary of North Maluku, Drs Samsuddin A Kadir, M.Si, Academician of Unkhair Ternate Dr Aziz Hasyim, S.E., M.Si, and Head of the North Maluku ESDM Office, Suriyanto Andili, S.E," he said.
For that, he expects the academic community of IAIN Ternate to support and make a success of the inauguration and Rakerwil of the ISMEI management region XI for the period 2025-2027.
"Hopefully the inauguration and Rakerwil of ISMEI region XI in May can run smoothly according to the expectations of all parties," he concluded.
