Dean of the Faculty of Tarbiyah IAIN Ternate Dr Sahjad M Aksan Reveals the Key to Success in Achieving Excellent Accreditation for 3 Study Programs at the Faculty of Tarbiyah
TERNATE – Dean of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FTIK) of the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Ternate, North Maluku, Dr. Sahjad M Aksan, M.Phil said that commitment and cooperation are the keys to the success of the Tarbiyah Faculty in presenting the predicate of superior accreditation for three study programs (prodi).
The three study programs that have received superior accreditation at the Tarbiyah Faculty are the Islamic Religious Education Study Program (PAI), the Elementary Madrasah Teacher Education Study Program (PGMI), and the Islamic Education Management Study Program (MPI).
He explained that it started from a commitment to achieve superior accreditation in each study program, then strengthened by teamwork in collaborating, communicating, and coordinating to maximize work productivity throughout the implementation of Re-Accreditation.
"So, from this commitment and cooperation, we see it as the key to the success of the Tarbiyah Faculty in achieving superior accreditation in the PAI, PGMI and MPI study programs," explained Sahjad, when met in his office, Wednesday (7/5/2025) afternoon.
In addition, he emphasized that the three study programs that received superior predicates were indeed the result of the efforts of the leaders, educators and education staff at the Faculty of Tarbiyah.
Even so, according to him, the results obtained by the Faculty of Tarbiyah in carrying out Re-Accreditation, cannot be separated from the role of the IAIN Ternate academic community, who also contributed to the implementation of accreditation in each study program at the Faculty of Tarbiyah.
"In principle, the achievement of superior accreditation from study programs at the Faculty of Tarbiyah presents the same message and goal, namely improving the quality of education at IAIN Ternate," he said.
After receiving superior predicates in the PAI, PGMI and MPI study programs, he hopes that with the commitment and cooperation that has been built, it will later make it easier for the Tarbiyah Faculty to carry out Re-Accreditation in three study programs that are currently being prepared to be submitted to the independent education accreditation institution (LAMDIK).
The three study programs are the Islamic education guidance and counseling study program (BKPI), mathematics education and early childhood Islamic education study program (PIAUD), which will be Re-Accredited in 2025.
"Of the eight study programs in the Tarbiyah Faculty, four of them have achieved results, namely the PAI, PGMI, MPI and Arabic study programs. Meanwhile, the biology study program is currently still waiting for the results from LAMDIK," he said.
"Meanwhile, the BKPI, mathematics education and PIAUD study programs will be Re-Accredited in 2025," he continued.
Sahjad added, although the BKPI study program, Mathematics education and PIAUD study program have a Re-Accreditation application period in 2027. However, his party does not want to be a burden for the new leadership at the Faculty of Tarbiyah.
For that, in order to improve the quality of education through study programs, and to facilitate the performance of the leadership of the Faculty of Tarbiyah in 2026, his party decided that the three study programs that have not been Re-Accredited must be completed in 2025.
"By completing the implementation of the Re-Accreditation of study programs in 2025, of course it is a charity for us in this period, so we see that we will not leave a burden for the next leadership," he said.
He hopes that when carrying out Re-Accreditation for the three study programs, they will get satisfactory results in order to answer the dreams of the leadership, educators and education personnel and students of the Faculty of Tarbiyah.
"Hopefully the BKPI, Tadris Matematika and PIAUD study programs will achieve satisfactory results like the PAI, PGMI and MPI study programs," he said, ending. (*)
