BANDUNG – Chancellor of the State Islamic Religious Institute (IAIN) Ternate, North Maluku, Prof Dr Radjiman Ismail, M.Pd together with a number of rectors of State Islamic Religious Universities (PTKIN) attended the opening of the Electronic Selection System for the State Islamic Religious Higher Education Entrance Examination (SSE UM- PTKIN) 2024, which took place at the State Islamic University (UIN) Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, Monday (24/6/2024).
Apart from the PTKIN and PTKN leaders, this occasion was also attended by the Indonesian Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, and the Director General of Islamic Education (Dirjen Pendis) of the Indonesian Ministry of Religion, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Zainul Hamdi M.Ag.
Via cellular connection, the Chancellor of IAIN Ternate, Prof. Radjiman Ismail, said that the opening of the 2024 SSE UM-PTKIN activities was officially opened by the Minister of Religion, Yaqut Cholil Qoumas.
He revealed that on this occasion the Minister of Religion emphasized the importance of paying attention to the development of state Islamic religious universities (PTKIN) in Indonesia.
Apart from that, he continued, the Minister of Religion also hopes that students at PTKIN must be taught comprehensive religious knowledge, because according to him, the knowledge contained in PTKIN is at the forefront of the nation's defense.
"That is what Gus Men Yaqut Cholil Qoumas emphasized, because he really paid attention to the development of PTKIN," he said
The Minister of Religion, said Radjiman, also asked PTKIN leaders to be more active in promoting each university through social media platforms, as well as carrying out collaborative activities in socializing universities directly to each school.
For this reason, according to him, after receiving this direction, he believes that IAIN Ternate will continue to consistently promote IAIN Ternate to the community. He assessed that this step was a big hope of the Minister of Religion for PTKIN to recruit prospective new students at each school.
"From the direction given by Gus Men, of course it has attracted the attention of higher education leaders. I consider that the message conveyed is an encouragement to continue moving in developing higher education," he explained.
"The promotional content in socializing higher education as stated by the Minister is also very appropriate, because now is the era of the world of digitalization," he added.
Radjiman revealed that up to now, IAIN Ternate is still intensively socializing study programs through social media platforms, but he believes there are still shortcomings, so he will encourage the information technology (IT) team, as well as the PMB committee, to maximize further outreach on media platforms. digital.
"Currently social media reaches all levels of society, so socializing higher education through digital platforms is a concern of all campuses, both public and religious campuses," he concluded. (*)
