Opening FTIK IAIN Ternate Celebration Activities, Dean: Participants in Scientific Writing for Students Increase Drastically
TERNATE – The Festive Event for the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FTIK) IAIN Ternate, North Maluku was held again. This activity, which has become an annual agenda, took place in the IAIN Ternate auditorium and was officially opened by the Dean of FTIK Dr Sahjad M Aksan, M.Phil, Tuesday (16/7/2024).
This Gebyar event has a different theme from previous events, namely Achieving Achievement, Being a Golden Indonesia, which is attended by Senior High Schools (SMA) and Madrasah Aliyah (MA) in the city of Ternate and West Halmahera Regency.
Dean of FTIK Dr Sahjad M Aksan, M.Phil in his speech said, there were 5 types of competition categories that were contested, namely, the Solo Boys/Girls Pop Competition (SMA/SMK/MA in North Maluku), the Boys/Girls Solo Pop Competition (SMA/ SMK/MA in North Maluku), English Debate Competition (SMA/SMK/MA in North Maluku), Mathematics and Biology Olympiad Competition (SMA/SMK/MA in North Maluku), Student and Teacher Writing Competition (SMA /SMK/M throughout North Maluku), National Student Writing Competition (PTKIN/PTN/PTS).
Of the number of competitions, continued Sahjad, school participation had decreased greatly, so his party decided that in this event, only English debate competitions, Pop Solo, Mathematics and Biology Olympiad Competitions were for high school and MA students, while for students it was Scientific Writing and Learning Media Design.
"There is a competition that we announced but there were few people interested, namely the Scientific Writing Competition for Students and Teachers, so we decided not to hold it this year, but we hope that in the coming year there will be more people interested," explained Sahjad.
Even though there are few people interested in the Scientific Writing Competition for Students and Teachers, the party hopes that in the coming year it will be held nationally, so that the number of participants will be much higher.
He revealed that the scientific writing and learning design competitions for interested students were very different from the competitions for high school and MA students, namely a total of 109 participants registered.
"In the future, we will design a scientific writing competition and compete nationally, so that not only students in North Maluku will take part, but students in other provinces will also take part, so it will be more lively, and of course students in North Maluku will also show their achievements nationally," he explained
Sahjad said that the aim of holding a scientific writing competition for students was so that the school would continue to encourage their students to achieve achievements, because according to him, since this competition was held for students, it turned out to present a much greater positive side.
"Our students who succeeded in making IAIN Ternate proud at national and international events in scientific writing competitions, all started from their participation in events that we held, so we hope that from events like this the school will continue to encourage students to achieve achievements at a higher level. high," he said
"We would like to thank the schools that participated in this 2024 celebration event, hopefully in the future we will have more competitions, and for schools that have not had the opportunity to participate, we hope that in the coming year they will participate again," he said.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the 2024 FTIK Gebyar committee, Drs Ramli Yusuf, M.Pd, said that the 2024 Gebyar event will be centered in the auditorium, due to consideration of this type of competition which is lacking in interest.
"There are only 4 types of competitions with very many participants, so we decided to hold them in the auditorium," he explained
He revealed that although the number of participants in competitions for students has decreased, the number of participants in scientific writing and learning design competitions for students has increased drastically, because not only universities under the auspices of the Ministry of Religion participate, but there is also participation from public universities.
"Judging from the participant participation numbers, it is certainly very different from the previous year," he said
"Thank God, of the hundreds of participants in the scientific writing and learning media design competition, IAIN Ternate students also achieved achievements, this shows that our children also have great enthusiasm to compete with children at other universities outside North Maluku," he concluded
