TERNATE – On Wednesday (31/7) the day after tomorrow, the IAIN Ternate Real Work Lecture (KKN) implementing committee, through the Institute for Research and Community Service (LP2M) will deploy 513 Regular KKN and Religious Moderation Collaboration students at the KKN location.
If in the previous year's KKN implementation, the committee chose West Halmahera district, then in this KKN the committee concentrated more on three regions, namely the city of Ternate, North Halmahera and East Halmahera districts.
According to the chairman of the 2024 IAIN Ternate Regular KKN and Religious Moderation Collaboration implementation committee, Cici Aryansi Quilim, the choice of location was based on the results of a survey conducted by the committee with reference to village potential that needed to be developed, as well as carrying out community empowerment programs in local villages.
"Previously, we focused on the Religious Moderation KKN on West Halmahera district, but this time it was moved to East Halmahera and North Halmahera, and some of the KKN participants were placed in the city of Ternate," he said, when met in his office, Monday (29/7/2024 ).
He explained, for East Halmahera district there are 22 locations (villages) spread across 4 sub-districts, while in North Halmahera district, his party places KKN students in 12 villages in 3 sub-districts. Meanwhile, students who are placed in the city of Ternate are in 7 sub-districts.
"In Ternate, the 7 sub-districts are divided into each sub-district, namely North Ternate, Central and Ternate Island sub-districts," explained Hasanuddin Makassar University postgraduate alumnus.
He revealed that in the 2024 Regular KKN and Religious Moderation Collaboration, IAIN Ternate collaborated with 5 state Islamic religious universities (PTKIN), namely Sunan Ampel State Islamic University (UIN) Surabaya, UIN Satu Tulungagung, UIN Malang, UIN Makassar and IAIN Kediri.
Of the five PTKINs, he continued, the largest number of students was from UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya, namely 10 students, while UIN Makassar sent 3 students, UIN Satu Tulungagung 2 students, UIN Malang 2 students and IAIN Kediri 2 students.
"If you add students from IAIN Ternate, the total is 513 students. For students from the 5 PTKINs, all of them are placed in East Halmahera, precisely in Wasile sub-district," explained the lecturer at the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI) IAIN Ternate.
"All accommodation and transportation costs during the KKN are borne by the committee," he added.
He added, the KKN training was carried out for 2 days and was divided into two places, namely students from IAIN Ternate who were selected for the collaborative KKN carried out the briefing in the FEBI auditorium, while Regular KKN students took part in the briefing in the IAIN Ternate auditorium.
"So the KKN implementation will take place from July 31 to September 9 2024," he concluded. (*)
